Genco Gulan's 10 Principles of Contemporary Art 1. Contemporary Art is about innovation. Technological and digital developments are always offering new opportunities for art. However Contemporary Art develops in tandem with technology but can become an alternative to science. 2. Contemporary Art makes a product unuseful. Normally products are made to be used. They have to satisfy certain criteria, not only functional, but also psychological and aesthetic. However, Contemporary Art emphasizes the unusefulness of things. 3. Contemporary Art is not necessarily aesthetic. Because every body and every object can be beautiful. 4. Contemporary Art makes things that are not so much understandable.
