Arkzin was a periodical published in Zagreb, Croatia, from 1991 to 1998. It began as a political fanzine and later on the editorial board widened the scope and included international members and topics. Arkzin gradually changed to a hybrid magazine in which politics, culture, theory and art met, crossed and overlapped. .

"Arkzin as a newspaper has established itself as a major forum of independent, alternative, critical information and debate. Arkzin not simply opposition newspaper, but insists on analysis of ideology and examines the role of the media, of the intellectuals and various marginalized youth subcultures!" Its predecessors include the youth magazines Polet and Studentski list.

It was the first on-line publication in Croatia (designed by Blazenko Karesin Karo). The members of the editorial staff were, among others, Geert Lovink and Boris Buden. Arkzin, besides the political theory and practice and pop culture, regularly covered the subject of media culture and art. Igor Markovic has been the editor of the Cyber Theory column since 1996, presenting the translations of key texts of media theory. The magazine is not published at the moment. that Croatian media scene had not been used to. Its hybrid quality was

especially manifested in the field of new media, which has been

continually recorded since 1995. "Arkzin" recorded events on the international scene of new media by their

extensive definition, which included the culture of DJ's, VJ's, electronic music created and

distributed via computers, urban club culture etc. Promoted concept of tactical media. .
