Bojana obtained her BA in English Language and Literature from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, Novi Sad, MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, and PhD from the Language Pedagogy PhD Programme at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest.
In second half of the 1990s she was a member of the art association Apsolutno.
From 1993 to 1999 she worked in the English Department at the University of Novi Sad, where she taught ELT methodology. While there, she took part in a British Council pre-service teacher training project (1997-1998). She also taught in an IOM (International Organization for Migration) English language programme for people displaced from various parts of the former Yugoslavia, who were in the process of resettlement to English speaking countries.
From 1999 to 2004 she was an academic writing instructor in the Center for Academic Writing at Central European University in Budapest. There she developed materials and taught academic writing to MA students in a wide range of social sciences. She also designed and taught workshops for university teachers in Samara (Russia) in 1999 and 2001.
From 2004 to 2006 she took part in a number of EAP and ESP projects as course and materials designer and teacher, including the Open Society Institute Summer School at Bilgi University, Istanbul (2005, 2006), a writing course for Palestinian students of law (Central European University, Budapest, 2005), academic writing in Gender Studies (Novi Sad University, 2005,2006), academic writing in European Studies (Novi Sad University, 2006), business English for economists from N.Korea (Central European University, Budapest, 2005/2006), writing for international publication for scholars from Iraq (Central European University, 2006) and writing for international publication and interactive pedagogy in higher education for junior faculty at the University of Belgrade (Belgrade Open School, 2004).
From 2005 to 2007 she worked in the Department of English Applied Linguistics at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary, where she taught academic writing courses for undergraduate students and applied linguistics seminars for MA students.
She has been teaching in the Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex since 2007.
