The Factory of the Eccentric Actor (FEKS) was founded in 1921 in Petrograd by Grigori Kozintsev (1905–1972) and Leonid Trauberg (1902–1990) and combined the training of actors with collective artistic production in theatre and film. The FEKS group perceived Eccentrism as a new direction within the avant-garde that sought to find a place between Futurism, Surrealism and Dada.
