Fabian Tompsett is a writer, activist and artist.

Tompsett was involved in the London Workers Group, alongside his engagement with several printing cooperatives in London during the 1980s. Until 1985, he was also part of the group Class War. In the 1990s he was an active member of the revival of Ralph Rumney's London Psychogeographical Association (LPA) under the name LPA East London Section. The LPA published numerous pamphlets and a newsletter. Tompsett contributed under the pseudonym Richard Essex. In conjunction with LPA, the Luther Blissett Project was created, a Situationist-influenced collective moniker used also by Stewart Home among others. He published and created the psychogeographic journal Transgressions: A Journal of Urban Exploration that ran for five issues between 1995 and 2000, with input from Alastair Bonnett. The LPA collaborated with the Neoist Alliance, eventually merging to form the New Lettrist International in 2000.

He was also a driving force of the Association of Autonomous Astronauts from 1995 to 2000 within the East London AAA.

He translated some of Asger Jorn's and Situationist texts into English.

He is now an active player in the Class Wargames project around the War Game developed by Guy Debord and Alice Becker-Ho. (2019)
