Florian Sprenger is currently a PostDoc at the Graduate Center for the Study of Culture at the University of Gießen.

He studied philosophy and media studies at Ruhr-University Bochum and Medienkultur at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

From 2007 to 2010 he was a member of the graduate school Sinne - Technik - Inszenierung/Wien. From 2010 to 2012 he was a Junior Fellow at the Internationales Forschungszentrums Kulturwissenschaft/Wien, at the Graduiertenkolleg Mediale Historiographien/Weimar, Jena, Erfurt and a visiting scholar at Stanford University.
