Georgia Kotretsos (b. 1978, Thessaloniki) is a visual artist based in Athens, Greece. Kotretsos was raised and educated in South Africa and only repatriated in 2006 while she continued to live between Athens and the States until 2010. She has attained an MFA Degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago on a Full Merit Scholarship (2004) in the United States and a BFA Degree from the Durban Institute of Technology, in KwaZulu Natal, (2000) in South Africa. In her work she primarily focuses and critiques the conformity of seeing and perceiving artworks in relation to their surroundings.
