Giedrius Kuprevičius

(b. 1944) lives in Kaunas and is well known for his traditional compositions. Kuprevichius, a philosophically minded composer, expertly uses all the devices of com- puter technique. Though his composi- tions are not always listener oriented in terms of their form, their scale is always grandiose, as evidenced by the cycle "The Light of the Zodiac". Kuprevichius takes an active part in public activities and for a long time has been head of the computer section of the Arts, Sciences and Technology Commission.
