The Gutai Art Association (具体美術協会, 1954–72) was an avant-garde collective of 17 original member artists, formed by artist, critic, and teacher Jirō Yoshihara (吉原 治良), along with Shōzō Shimamoto (嶋本 昭三), in the cosmopolitan town of Ashiya, near Osaka, in western Japan.
