Composer, performer and sound artist. His creative output spans numerous electroacoustic works, music for film and dance, two opera's, and three albums with rock band The Jimmy Cake. Collaborators include Michael Nyman, Kevin Volans, Clare Langan, Raymond Deane, Judith Ring and Davey Spillane. His second opera Thwaite (librettist Simon Doyle, director Dan Jemmet) was awarded the top prize at the 2003 Genesis Opera Project and was performed in Aldeburgh, Dublin and London. As a performer he has played electroacoustic works by Stockhausen, Cage and Nono as well performing his own work throughout Europe. He received an M.Phil. in Music and Media Technologies from Trinity College Dublin in 2000. Recent projects include "The Second Lesson of the Anatomists" a collaboration with Belfast poet Sinead Morrissey, and commissioned by the Sligo New Music Festival, for soprano, string quartet, piano, flute and electronics, "Metamorphosis", with film maker Clare Langan for string quartet, choir and electronics "X+Y+Z", music for the generative video by Tim Redfern, and a new album with "The Jimmy Cake".

Together with Robin Parmar he has been curating Soundings series in Limerick since 2006.
