Filmmaker. Born 1911 in Lodz. Studies at the University of Warsaw. 1929 co-founds Start society. Directed 24 films between 1931 and 1970. Co-directs the 1933 film The Sea, which was nominated for an Academy Award in 1933 for Best Short Subject (Novelty). 1935 member of SAF. Feature films since 1936. During Warsaw Uprising led the production of chronicles for Film Department BIP KG AK (Referat Filmowy BIP KG AK). 1955-61 artistic director of "Syrena" film society. Dies 1971 in Warsaw.
