Dokumentary filmmaker, director and photographer.
In 1927-32 he worked as a film critic.
In 1930, Lehovec began collaborating with Alexandr Hackenschmied and Ladislav Emil Berka, with whom he also exhibited his photographs for the first time. In 1938 he moved from photography to film. Already in 1935 he created a scenic film for E.F. Burian's theatre performance May (second version of the film was made by Čeněk Zahradníček the following year).
Between 1965–1983 and 1990–1995 he taught documentary film at FAMU, Prague.[1]
