Joana Chicau (PT) is a communication designer, with a background in performance - classical ballet and contemporary dance. In her practice she investigates the possible connections between – and coexistence of – choreography and graphic design, aiming to open the possibilities for new aesthetic, energetic and social dimensions in design production processes. She graduated in Communication Design from the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto (BA, 2010-14) and in Media Design and Communication from the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam (MA, 2014-16). She lives in Rotterdam.
