born 1956 in Burgdorf (CH), studies in Art History, Literature and Philosophy, and graduating with a thesis on Etienne-Jules Marey. Working with electronics since the late 1960s, with photography since 1972 and with computers since 1981. 1978 co-founder of a video production cooperative. 1983–2001 freelance photographer and media technician. 1988–2002 teaching technology and aestethics of video art at the Schule für Gestaltung Bern. Since 2001 Professor for conservation and restoration of modern media at the Hochschule der Künste Bern HKB.
