Born in Czechoslovakia, Gruska studied at Institute of Sonology in The Hague (Netherlands) and at Music Academy in Cracow (Poland). His main focus is chaotic rhythms and the exploration of psychoacoustic properties of sound and field recording. He has created several site-specific sound installations based on resonant properties of spaces and materials and given workshops on sonification, field recording, printed circuit board design and programming for artists. He has authored interactive poems and visual performances, and is also a developer of open source computer instruments and artistic software. Gruska has also been active as part of various Gamelan orchestras in Netherlands, and is currently rehearsing with the Bratislava-based Merak Jagad orchestra. In 2009 he started the label Lom, focused on East/Central European experimental art and music. Since 2013 he organises Zvůk, an outdoor solar-powered festival dedicated to experimental music. His monikers include Mrkva and Binmatu.

Gruska has performed and exhibited his work Europe-wide at festivals such as Kraak (Belgium), Norberg (Sweden), Sonic Experiments @ ZKM (Germany), Audio Art (Poland), Mélos-Ethos (Slovakia), Parallel Vienna (Austria), and Next (Slovakia).
