Juan is a media artist and interaction designer who lives and works in Geneva,Switzerland. He graduated with honours from the Haute école d’art et de design – Genève (HEAD – Geneva) and is working in the intersection between art and design. He organizes workshops on critical technology, curates panels on contemporary publishing practices and conceives interactive installations with programing tools he develops.

His current interest are: The materialisation of social technologies in temporal urban spaces and their potential for generating valuable discussions in urban decisions;On empowering methods for the civil society to engage with their technological tools and on inclusive ways for teaching coding in playful ways.

He has work as artistic researcher for the Institute of Network Cultures(NL) as well as for Integral Ruedi Baur (FR/CH). In Geneva, he is the Content Coordinator of the Center for Future Publishing (CfFP) where he hosts a monthly event inviting artists, philosophers and designers to engage a discussion on how their practice is touched by contemporary changes in publishing and also exposing critical views on algorithmically assisted artistic practices on publishing. He was part of the mediation of construction of the Dutch Pavilion (Bogotá 2016) working along designers and architects such as Irma Boom and MVRDV.

His most recent work “Perpetual Printing” was exhibited as a carte blanche in the Triennial of Contemporary Prints at the Musée des Beaux-arts le Locle (Locle,CH), Porto Design Biennale (Porto,PT),Weltformat Festival (Lucerne,CH) and in Volumes Art Book Fair (November 2019 Zurich,CH) made in collaboration with Penelope Umbrico and the CfFP. His writings and work have been published by Hackers & Designers(NL), PublishingLab(NL), Revista Arcadia(CO), Issue-journal(CH) and self publish.

He has facilitated workshops for Bibliothèques Municipales de la Ville de Genève, Pro-Helvetia Shanghai, AIESEC Siences Po Paris and educational projects for kids and adults.
