Julie Boschat Thorez (FR) is a researcher, artist and proficient creator of far fetched analogies. Her work engages with the materiality of digital environments through its capacity to affect or get affected by the physical realm. She regards them as agents, structuring the agency between humans acting across the localities covered, at a pace induced by their physical properties and geographical condition. Aside from that she tries to engage with the materiality (and sustainability) of digital works through varied approaches and formats for specific contexts. She graduated in Media Design and Communication from the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam (MA, 2014-16). She is based in Rotterdam.
