She emigrated to Mexico in 1939 where she was part of surrealists circles and teaching photography at the Nacional de Artes Plásticas school and at the Universidad Iberoamericana. Kati Horna (1912-2000) was a Budapest-born photographer who participated in the civil war in Spain and was member of anarchistic groups like Mujeres Libres or Tierra y Libertad.
