Michaela Lakova
Michaela Lakova (BG/NL) is a visual artist and researcher based in Rotterdam. She holds a BA in Stage and Screen Design from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA), Sofia (2006-11), and an MA in Media Design and Communication from Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam (2012-14). Her subjects of interest are errors, systems malfunction and the inevitable generation of data traces and its problematic resistance to deletion. Her works have been exhibited in group shows as well as media festivals including Bureau Europa, Maastricht; Lydgalleriet, Piksel festival, Bergen; 'Unlinked', TENT gallery, Rotterdam; USB-Shuffle show, Institut für Alles Mögliche, Transmediale, Berlin; .gif Archive, eXAF foundation; The Fridge, Sofia; “Free book for every soul”, Impakt, Utrecht.
