Michel Chion (1947) is an experimental music composer, teacher and critic. He teaches at several institutions in France and currently holds the post of Associate Professor at the University of Paris III: Sorbonne Nouvelle where he is a theoretician and teacher of audio-visual relationships. From 1971 to 1976 he was a member of the Groupe de recherches musicales (GRM). He made ​​films and videos and published more than thirty books on sound, music, film (among other monographs on Andrei Tarkovsky, David Lynch, Jacques Tati and Stanley Kubrick).
