Mirek Vodrážka
Mirek Vodrážka (1954, Prague) is Czech activist, feminist, musician, "philosopher of chaos," and independent journalist. Born with a twin he referred to himself in the feminine gender. In the 1970s he was the author and main propagator of the manifestos of "emotionalism" and pursued the method of "total improvisation,". During the 1980s he was one of the organizers of the "Religionistic and Philosophic Seminars" with Egon Bondy, Milan Balabán, and Milan Machovec and hosted several of the historical Charter 77 meetings in his apartment. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989, he wrote for and then became editor of the journal Vokno. He was also the editor of philosophical articles published in samizdat and he published essays connected to feminist issues. He was one of the figures in the musical-theatrical project Psychochaos. In 1996 he published, via the Gender Studies Foundation in Prague, his book, Feminist Talks About Secret Services (Feministicke rozhovory o tajnych službách), seven interviews with women active in politics and the public sphere in the Czech Republic. In 1997 published his philosophical essay, Chaocracy (Votobia Publishing). Currently works at The Institute for Study of Totalitatian Systems (Ústav pro studium totalitních režimů - ÚSTR).
