Nicolae Brânduş is a Romanian composer. Born 1935 in Bucharest. Brânduş studied piano (1952-1957) and composition (1960-1964) at the National University of Music in Bucharest. He attended the Summer Courses of New Music, Darmstadt (1969, 1970, 1972, 1974, 1978, 1980) and Aix-en-Provence (1979). Doctor in Musicology (1981) at the Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca with the dissertation Bases of a formalized analysis of the musical language. He worked with the Group of Musical Research at IRCAM-Paris (1985).
