Born in Prague 1946.Studied psychology, philosophy and aesthetics at Charles University, then worked for several years as a clinical psychologist; between 1979 and 1989 in manual jobs. Since his studies he collaborated with the philosopher Jiří Němec, in the mid-70s he was in close contact with Jan Patočka, and Jindřich Chalupecký. In the 80s he organized private philosophical seminars in cooperation with the British Jan Hus Association. After 89 working at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, later at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University in Liberec.
