Petr Rezek

Studied psychology, philosophy and aesthetics at Charles University, then worked for several years as a clinical psychologist; between1979 and 1989 in manual jobs. Since his studies he collaborated with the philosopher Jiří Němec, in the mid-70s he was in close contact with Jan Patočka, and Jindřich Chalupecký. In the 80s he organized private philosophical seminars in cooperation with the British Association of Jan Hus. After 89 working at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, later at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University in Liberec.

In the 70s he was focusing on issues of phenomenological psychology and phenomenology of art (influence of E. Husserl, Heidegger, E. Fink, M. Boss, H. Rombach) in the 80s studies of ancient philosophy (Plato, Aristotle, Plotinos). He is widely known for his criticism of Zdeněk Neubauer, Václav Havel. After 89 he established the edition PomFil (Assistant philosopher) in publishing house Oikúmené, He was the editor of the magazine Konzerva/Na hudbu and founded his own publishing house. Since 2004 he is publishing his texts "Collected Works". In 2010 was awared by the Tom Stoppard Prize for his book The architecture and Protoarchitecture.
