Born 1960. Broadcaster, festival curator and professor. Since the mid-1980s she is an author, director and editor in the domain of experimental radio, electro-acoustic music and acoustic media art. She coordinates AudioHyperspace, the online magazine of SWR2 RadioART which explores acoustic art forms and data-space. Since 2003 Sabine Breitsameter contributed to the establishment of the department of Sound Studies at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she also lectures on experimental sound design as a visiting professor. Between 1993 and 1996 she produced the avant-garde radio play “International Radio Art” at Sender Freies Berlin. She also workes as an editor at Hessischer Rundfunk, where she directed the international conference “All Ears: A Symposium on Listening” which ran parallel to Documenta X in Kassel, 1996 – 1997. Sabine Breitsameter also was a radio play editor at Radio Bremen. Currently she works as curator for Berlin University of the Arts, several Goethe Institutes in Asia and America, and the ZKM in Karlsruhe. She lectures on acoustic media art, electro-acoustic art forms, and contemporary listening culture.
