Slavko Kacunko

Born 1964 in Croatia. Art historian, art and cultural theorist. Studied pedagogy at Osijek University; art history and philosophy at Zagreb University; history of art at University of Dusseldorf (dissertation about the work of Marcel Odenbach, 1999); and acquired professorship for art history with a thesis on the History and Theory of Media Art, University of Osnabruck (2006). He has garnered a number of awards and honors for his research in art history, and in particular on the subject of video art. He has published numerous articles on art and media theory and teaches at the Art Academy, Dusseldorf; Goethe-University, Frankfurt; Multimedia Center/Goethe Institut, Zagreb; Soros Foundation, Sarajevo. Lives in Berlin and Düsseldorf.
