Victor Ernest Maşek (13 January 1937 - 20 September 2002) was an aesthetician, translator and theatre critic. He was the son of Hedwiga (born Ekhardt) and Carol Maşek, economist. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in 1965 and obtained a PhD with the thesis Introduction to Information Aesthetics, published in 1972 under the title Art and Matematics. After 1989, he was director of the Nottara Theatre in Bucharest.
