Victor Ernest Maşek (13 January 1937, Bucharest - 20 September 2002, Bucharest) was an estetician, translator and Theatre critic. He was the son of Hedwigăi (born Ekhardt) and of Carol Maşek, economist. He graduated in 1965 the Faculty of Philosophy and became a Phd with the thesis "Introduction to Information Aesthetics", published in 1972 under the title "Art and matematics". After 1989 he was director of the Theatre "Nottara" in Bucharest. Started with lyrics in 1959, the "Literary Gazette" [Gazeta literară].
