Born 1956 in Bratislava. 1969 – 1971 studied privately composition with Peter Bartovic. 1971 – 1975 studied composition with Juraj Pospíšil and piano with Mária Masariková at the Bratislava Conservatory. 1973 – 1980 music gatherings in the house of Ján Albrecht. 1975 – 1980 studied composition with Dezider Kardoš at the Academy of Music and Drama in Bratislava. 1979 – 1988 editor at OPUS Music Publishing. 1984 member of the Union of Slovak Composers. 1988 – 1989 course with Roman Haubenstock-Ramati at Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. 1988 – 1992 postgraduate course at the Institute of Musicology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. January 1990 chairman of the Association of Slovak Composers. June 1993 thesis Battaglia and Mimesis. 1991 – 1996 senior editor of Slovak Music quarterly. 1993 – 1994 composer-in-residence at the Slovak Philharmonic. 1997 – 1999 head of the Publishing Department of the National Music Centre.
