Wijnand Bredewold (1961) works a from a strong concept, such as the origin of the universe, nature and themes related to our living environment. For his work he goes out with cameras and sound recorders. In his latest project 'Silence' he went in search of the quietest place in the Netherlands. Does real silence still exist? His recent work 'Crossfading places' is about lost personal places that have been replaced by new buildings with new functions. This work was on display during the IJsselbiennale 2021 from 18 June. The 'Border' project is a long-term project, in which he tries to capture the atmosphere on land borders that nowadays no longer seem to have a function.
