Ivana Moncoľová

Ivana Moncoľová (1980) is a historian, theoretician, art critic and curator. She is a lecturer at the Department of Theory and History of Art of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. She studied History of Art and Culture at the University of Trnava. She completed her doctoral studies in 2016 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava on the topic "Transformations of artistic authorship". She has been publishing texts on art since 1998 in both professional and mass media. She has curated several exhibitions of contemporary artists, among others Jana Farmanová - In the Sign of the Maiden, Bratislava City Gallery (2015), How to Read the Darkness/ The Exhibition that Casts a Shadow (Róna, Gerbóc, Váchal) at the Nitra Gallery in Nitra (2016), Total Romantic at the Jan Koniarek Gallery in Trnava (2018), Mirroir Noir - MRB at the M. A. Bazovský in Trenčín (2018), Radovan Čerevka: Power in the Museum at the East Slovak Gallery in Košice (2018-2019). She is the editor of several monographic catalogues and the author of expert studies in catalogues related to exhibition activities, dedicated to contemporary art: monographs Jana Farmanová (Slovart, Krokus Galéria, 2012), Jana Farmanová - In the Sign of the Virgin (Artforum, 2015), Rastislav Podoba: Working Surface (Central Slovak Gallery in Banská Bystrica, 2015), Radovan Čerevka (Moncolova Editions, 2018-2019), Silvia Krivošíková (Moncolova Editions, 2019).
