Rarita Zbranca (1975) is an arts manager and cultural policymaker.

Her main area of interest is the role of culture for social transformation and urban development. She is director and cofounder of AltArt Foundation and Programme Director of the newly established Cluj Cultural Centre.

She has been involved in strategic planning and programming for the participation of the city of Cluj in the competition for the title of European Capital of Culture 2021. She is a member of the Strategy Group of the A Soul for Europe initiative of the Balkan Express network. She is also cofounder of Fabrica de Pensule, an independent collective space for contemporary arts.

Graduated the University of Arts and Design in Cluj, Romania (2003) and holds a second BA in Journalism at Babes Bolyai University Cluj, Romania (1997). During the past eighteen years she has worked in the fields of arts and culture, media, and democracy for various organisations including AltArt Foundation, A Soul for Europe, Ethnocultural Diversity Resource Center, Soros Foundation for an Open Society Romania. Lives in Cluj, Romania.
