Born 1962. Has a background in philosophy and theatre. Founder/publisher of the theatre and art magazine 'Alligator'. As director of the Summerfestival Amsterdam initiated several mediaprojects (f.i. The Wetware Convention and Live Magazine). 1993 initiated and co-founded De Digitale Stad (DDS), the first Digital City on the Internet. She was the 'digital mayor' till 1996. Co-founder and director of the Society for Old and New Media (since 1996 Waag Society). Co-founded Net4.nl in 1998, a net-based public broadcast organisation and was involved in setting up of the European Cultural Backbone, a network of innovative cultural centers in Europe.
