Axis is an organisation concentrating on initiating and developing projects in the field of art and gender. Its main objective is the renewing of concepts of masculinity and femininity. Axis is active in the field of the visual arts, the stage-arts, literature, and (new) media. This multidisciplinary approach allows Axis to show (gender and identity) related thematic connections between the art disciplines and between the arts and the media. Axis organises projects like exhibitions, performances, debates, publications and forums. (2001)

Founded 1997.
