Eckart Lottmann is a film maker and researcher. In 1977 he co-founded the Medienoperative Berlin e.V. (MOB). This alternative media centre produced videos with socio-pedagogical topics and organised introductory courses for video recording and editing. Since 1992 Lottmann has worked as a freelance journalist at various TV channels. Der Traum vom rechtsfreien Raum (1993/94) was one of his films about the squatting in West Berlin in 1980/81.
