Social media conference, started as an initiative of Status.net with an idea to develop the O-status protocol to do federated social networking. At the first summit in Portland, the idea was to agree on a common use case, which happened, and got reviewed at the second summit in Berlin.
- 18 July 2010, Portland, Oregon. Implementers invite-only one-day summit, with Status.Net, OStatus, Buzz, Diaspora, GNU Social, DiSo, BuddyPress, Elgg, posterous, Tumblr, Dreamwidth.[1]
- 3-5 June 2011, Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, Berlin. An open event on Social Web interoperability, standards and privacy. [2]
