Stephan Roll or Ştefan Roll (1903) was born in today's Greek Macedonia. His father was a milkman who owned a large dairy shop in Bucharest, a place which was often attended by poets and artists of the Romanian avant-garde in the 1920s and early 1930s. In 1924, he collaborated with Ilarie Voronca on the 75HP revue. They worked together for several years, until, in 1931, Voronca published a book through a mainstream publishing house. Roll later moved towards Socialist realism. [1]
