steim (the studio for electro-instrumental music) is the Center for Research & Development of instruments & tools for performers in the electronic performance arts, Laboratory, Workshop, International meeting place, Artist hotel, Production office, Live electro acoustic music, Dj's, Vj's, Theatre, Video-dance, Installations and Nomad studio. Support home of the pioneers of Touch and creators of personal and extremely physical musical instruments. Founded in 1967. Based in Amsterdam.

Produced BigEye and Image/ine software.

Artistic/managing director: Dick Rijken (since 2009); past: Takuro Mizuta Lippit (2008-2013), Michel Waisvisz (1981-2008), Peter Schat (1971-1973).
