Fundación Telefónica Madrid, "Awakening ideas awakens the future", is a Foundation of the global broadband and telecommunications provider Telefónica, channeling its social and cultural initiatives in all countries where it is present. It is how the company interacts with society and contributes to building the future.
Between 1999 and 2014, it has initiated and organized the VIDA Art and Artificial Life International Awards to support artistic investigation and creative endeavors into artificial life and to promote production in this field, by rewarding the pioneering efforts of artists.
