New York Institute of Technology (also known as NYIT) is a private, independent, nonprofit, non-sectarian, coeducational research university. Founded in 1910, NYIT adopted a European polytechnic university model and focuses primarily on the instruction and research of technical arts and applied sciences.

NYIT offers more than 100 degree programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees, in more than 50 fields of study, including architecture and design; arts and sciences; engineering and computing sciences.
