ARTECA is a curated space for essential content linking the arts, sciences, and technologies. Established in 2016 jointly by The MIT Press and Leonardo.
ARTECA provides access to the full text of a growing collection of books, including the following MIT Press book series:
- Game Studies Books on game studies that range from pure ludology to practical advice for game designers, from the abstract to the concrete
- Leonardo Book Series Books that document the work of artists, researchers, and scholars at the intersection of the arts, sciences, and technology
- Platform Studies Books that investigate underlying computing systems and how they enable, constrain, shape, and support the creative work that is done on them
- Software Studies The best new work in a critical and experimental field that is at once culturally and technically literate, reflecting the reality of today’s software culture
- Technologies of Lived Abstraction A selection of books from this series that includes transdisciplinary works that critically and creatively inquire into processes of emergence in the world today
The full text of selected journals are available in ARTECA. These include:
