Dr. Sofia Bempeza (Σοφία Μπέμπεζα) is an artist, art/cultural theorist, and educator based in Zürich and Athens. Her work (research, performance, interventions) is focused on the politics of public spaces as well as queer-feminist subjectivities in the art and knowledge production. Her research interests concerns conflictual art practices in relation to the politics of dissent, subversion and cultural strategies of the New Right. Teaching practice: Zurich University of the Arts (2011–2017), Haute école d'art et de design Genève (2012), F+F Schule für Kunst & Design (2018), Municipal Cultural Center Petroupolis/Athens (2003–2005). She has been active as a board member of Shedhalle Zürich (2014–2018) and language-facilitator at the Autonome Schule Zürich (2013-2015). Currently she is a guest scientist at the Institute of Philosophy and Theory of Art and lecturer in the Mas­ters pro­gram­me in Culture, Arts and Media at Leuphana University Lüneburg. https://sofiabempeza.org
