Operating from Lima, he has a central role in the field of sound art in Peru, and runs Aloardi - the label and main hub for local Peruvian and international artists. Peru is stereotypically associated with panflutes, Machu Picchu, cevice and unfortunately hasn't much of a reputation concerning producing experimental music. Galarreta tries to change that by filtering the sound of Peru and South America to the outside world as noise.
