KwieKulik was the artistic duo of Zofia Kulik and Przemysław Kwiek, active between 1971 and 1987.

Since the early 1970s, their radically political art combined artistic activity with everyday life. They pioneered the process of transforming the domain of art into a laboratory for social participation and the formation of grassroots groups capable of achieving goals regardless of the intentions of state authorities. They belonged to the first generation of Polish artists who rejected traditional means of expression and concentrated on performance, 'activities' (the term used by the artists themselves) and the use of media in the mechanical recording and reproduction of images. They continue to be an important point of reference for socially and politically engaged contemporary artists who transpose their practice into new media. (2024)
