Names

- Red Sea Futurisms
- Red Sea Futures
Origin
- Originally tied to Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Project which includes developments like NEOM and Shebara, artist Kai (Kari) Altmann named "Red Sea Futurism(s)" in 2025 in order to diversify it to include all visions of the future in Red Sea cultures and geographies. These include other countries such as Egypt, Yemen, Sudan, Eritrea and Jordan, as well as different types of development and land use, for example places like Dahab on the Egypt coast. This also includes future thinking for the marine life of the Red Sea itself, as well as the animals that inhabit the land around it, and the land itself.
