Tomáš Dvořák
Czech theorist and historian of media. Born 1975. Studied at the Institute of Media Studies and Journalism FSV UK in Prague (1995-2001). In 2002 he curated New media collection at the National Gallery in Prague. Currently he is a researcher at the Centre for Science, Technology, and Society Studies at the Department of Philosophy of The Academy of Sciences of The Czech Republic where he deals with philosophy, history of science, and history of media. He is also a researcher at the Academic Research Centre of the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, and at the Institute of Sociology Studies FSV UK. He authored a monograph Sběrné suroviny: texty, obrazy a zvuky nedávné minulosti (Prague: Filosofia 2009), and edited an anthology Špinavé praktiky v umění a kultuře (Praha: VVP AVU 2010). He is editor-in-chief of Teorie vědy [Theory of Science] journal. Lives in Prague.
