Netbase/t0. Institute for New Culture Technologies was founded by Konrad Becker and Francisco de Sousa Webber in the Vienna's Museumsquarter in 1995 as a non-profit internet provider and a platform for the participatory use of information and communication technology. Organizes exhibitions, events, symposia and workshops. Organized events include Robotronika (1998), Synworld (1999), Interface Explorer (2001), Dark Markets (2002), Open Cultures (2003) and Free Bitflows (2004), World-Information City (2005). Member of Konsortium Netzkultur.

On January 11th 2006, Public Netbase was told by the City of Vienna's culture department that any subsidy for the group's basic activities was to be eliminated with immediate effect. On the same day, all of the group's workers were dismissed. This was followed by a dismantling of the organization, marking the end of Public Netbase's 12-year history. http://www.netbase.org/t0/intro/01
