Tee Wen. Born in Stockholm, Sweden. After studies in law, languages and economics at Stockholm University, she went on to study classic oil painting at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris and with painter Francis Harburger. Her painting debut exhibition was at Sala Gaudi in Barcelona in 1974. She continued to explore sound (and silence) with John Cage and video with Nam June Paik and in 1978 developed her first video project at the newly opened Centre Pompidou in Paris. A pionneer in video art, she started introducing computers in her work in 1983. Studies in 2-D computer animation at CIMA Université Paris VIII 1987-89, in the Vasulka Studio Santa Fé USA 1990 and at Aoyama Computer Graphic School in Tokyo in 1987. 1990-1995 she developed 3-D animation at the GAMSAU School of Architecture in Marseille, then began with Virtual Reality in 1997 and for 15 years held an artist residency at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, working with computer animation and VR. 1994-1997 teaching "Art and New Technology" at École Supérieur d'Art et de Design Luminy in Marseille and at Konstfack University for Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.

Tee Wen is also an accomplished sculptor, using traditional media as well as sculpting in Virtual Reality or creating stained glass windows for the baroque church of St. Martin de Corsavy France and other sites, and writing haiku poetry. (2024)
