Dr. Marjana Krajač (Zagreb, Croatia) is a choreographer, researcher, dance historian, and dance theorist with a Ph.D. in Dance Studies from the Ohio State University (2024). Her research examines the concept of dance and its experiment in relation to spatial histories, built environments, and the discourse of space. Her work explores the intersections of urban space, environment, and experimental media through the lens of choreographic inquiry. She has published in Movement Research Performance Journal, Journal for Dance Inquiry Movements, Performing Arts Journal Frakcija, International Journal of Performance Arts and Digital Media, and Body, Space & Technology Journal, among others. A collection of her essays titled Choreographic Journal: seeing / vidjeti was published as a book in 2018. She has received numerous awards for her choreographic work that explores symptoms, consequences, and temporalities of form. She earned a Ph.D. degree in Dance Studies from Ohio State University (US) in the summer of 2024, holding positions of Dean’s Distinguished University Fellow, Graduate Fellow, and Graduate Teaching Associate.
