Eleonoor Jap Sam (1968) studied Design & Communications at Ichthus Hogeschool HSAO in Rotterdam, and Art & Architectuur History at the University of Leiden. From 1998 until 2002 she was the director of DOCOMOMO International, an international network in 45 countries for the documentation and preservation of the architecture and urbanism of the Modern Movement and the co-editor of the DOCOMOMO Journal. She was one of the co-founders of episode publishers vof [2002-2009], independent publishers of books on art, culture, architecture and science in Rotterdam. Between 2009-2011 she worked as an advisor for the Mondriaan Foundation in the Netherlands (member of advisory committee Projects Art, Design and Cultural Heritage/member of advisory committee Programming Art and Heritage'. Memberships: ArtTable Nederland, De Kunst van Brabant, Vereniging Zelfstandige Uitgevers. She was a jury member of the LAI Award, the Hendrik Chabot Prize 2022, and Best Dutch Book Designs 2022. Eleonoor Jap Sam was a nominee Black Achievement Award 2022, Category Entrepeneurship. She is Chair of the Board of ArtTable Nederland, board member of Errant Journal and member of the Supervisory Board of Nest Ruimte voor Kunst in The Hague. (2025)
